Things lately have been hectic in my house, with my new baby brother who was just born a premature baby, we were scrambling to get ready for the day when he got to come home. Fresh blue paint on the walls in a cool wave, blue curtains, new bedding, and a million other blue things to suit. I was very anxious to meet him, sadly I don't get to spend everyday with him, but when I do get to see him, he is always content and a happy little boy.
This March Break, I will get to spend everyday with him, but two weeks from that, then another two weeks, and when time goes by so fast like that, he will grow so much and it will only seem that yesterday that we brought him home.
I have a three year old sister, and looking back, it doesn't seem like it's already been three years, she is growing like a weed and every time I see her, she knows something new, and let me tell you, she's one smart girl. I think I'm cool on the computer but she can work tablets and phones no problem...crazy, I know. Soon enough I will be able to sit her down, have an actual tea party maybe, or put some makeup on her and watch my little sis grow up to be an amazing person full of life and energy. Right now, if you could bottle all that energy up, you'd probably be able to sell it, not for dirt cheap either. I love seeing her take care for people, she's always willing to help and she's good at it. When my brother came home, she was very gentle with him, gave him hugs and kisses, and even got to hold him. Since he is a premature baby he is about the size of a normal loaf of bread, so tiny, 4.4lbs and when I got to feed and hold him, he snuggled into me. This is my new brother, little moment in life that was so precious and filled with happiness. Now he will grow to be strong and cute and before you know it, they will both be in school, and I will be the sister who plays football with them, and teaches them how to ride bikes, and play with them, let my inner kid out which I haven't done in awhile.
I still remember laughing when we took my sister to go blueberry picking, and instead of doing what she was told to do, she started picking them and eating all of the blueberries off of the bushes! We all thought it was funny, but we tried to stop her before she got a stomach ache, thank goodness she did or she would have turned into a blueberry! We also all had a good laugh there because her pants were too big, so when she went running down the rows, her pants would make their way down to her ankles and she would just lie there waiting for help. The sun beating down on our faces, and the farm boy on the tractor treating her like a little princess, those are the moments to live for.
Now we can make many more memories with my brother. When he grows up to that age he plays with cars and trains and starts seeing the world with eyes wide open, learning new things everyday, I will be there, and in my opinion that is priceless, because not only do I get to see my sister grow up to be a beautiful young lady, I will have a handsome little devil to watch over too.
